As part of the CDT-CARD project, a Cytek Northern Lights spectral flow cytometer was purchased in December 2023. The system is equipped with two lasers, violet (405 nm) and blue (488 nm), and an optical system consisting of one transmitted light detector (FSC) and two reflected light detectors (SSC, separate for the violet and blue lasers). The cytometer allows for signal detection in 30 fluorescence channels (16 for the violet laser and 14 for the blue laser) and is suitable for the analysis of small molecules (down to approx. 100 nm). In addition, the cytometer is equipped with an autosampler module that operates in the mode of 40×5 ml tubes or one 96-well plate (including deep well system).
