The Genomics Laboratory cooperates with the Center for Medical Genomics OMICRON, which has been operating at the Faculty of Medicine of the Jagiellonian University Medical College since 2013. The laboratory offers equipment and assistance necessary for genomic and transcriptomic research, including in vitro experiments and research on nanoparticles.
The Genomics Laboratory is equipped with:
- Seahorse XFe96 S7800B instrument for real-time measurement of in vitro metabolic parameters such as the rate of oxygen consumption (OCR) or the rate of extracellular acidification (ECAR) by living cells in a 96-well format, available with a Cytation 5 reader
- BD FACSMelody sorter (2 lasers, 6 colors) able to sort cells into tubes and standard plates
- Chromium iX (10x Genomics) used to prepare libraries for single-cell RNASeq experiments together with Maxwell RSC 48 instrument supporting preparation of these libraries
- Odyssey XF (LICOR) near-infrared membrane scanner facilitating simultaneous detection of 2 proteins on a single membrane at the same time or DNA visualization on gels
- Micro-PLUS Kairos and NanoSight NS300 nanoparticle analyzers together with Optima XPN-80 ultracentrifuge
- Nucleofector 4D device used for efficient cell transfection.
Additionally, in collaboration with the Center for Medical Genomics OMICRON, CDT-CARD Genomics Laboratory may access:
- next-generation sequencers – MiSeq, NextSeq (Illumina);
- microarray scanner – HiScan (Illumina);
- 2D electrophoresis system – Dodeca (BioRad);
- real-time PCR – CFX384 (BioRad), CFX96 (BioRad), MiniOpticon (BioRad);
- automatic reaction preparation stations (biorobots) – Bravo Liquid Handling System (Agilent);
- DNA fragment selection device – BluePippin (Sage Science);
- DNA fragmentation instrument – Bioruptor (Diagenode);
- Barcode readers;
- Essential equipment for sample processing in a molecular biology laboratory that applies Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards;
- -80°C freezers;
- Liquid nitrogen storage system;
- 2D barcode sample labelling system.
