Bioimaging Laboratory (BIL)

We are pleased to invite your research groups to take advantage of the unique research opportunities offered by the CDT-CARD Bioimaging Laboratory, equipped with state-of-the-art imaging techniques, including a white-laser-based inverted confocal scanning microscope and a hybrid MRI/PET tomography system for small animals.

With the upcoming grant application cycle from the National Science Centre (NCN), we encourage you to consider our laboratory as a site for conducting your research projects.

Available technologies include:

Confocal Microscopy – Leica Stellaris 8 DLS: The latest model enabling detailed visualization of biological structures at the submicron level, ideal for applications in cellular, histological, and neurobiological research.

MRI/PET Tomography – Bruker BioSpec Maxwell 70/17 MRI/PET: A pioneering combination of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET), allowing for simultaneous acquisition of structural, functional, and metabolic images. This capability is crucial for research in fields such as oncology, cardiology, and neuroscience.

Research Capabilities:

  • Interdisciplinary Research Projects: We offer collaboration on interdisciplinary projects that integrate medicine with bioengineering, chemistry, and physics.
  • Data Analysis Collaboration: Our team of experts provides support in bioinformatic and statistical analysis as well as in the interpretation of imaging data.
  • Training and Workshops: We organize training sessions on operating advanced imaging equipment and applying it in biomedical research.

Our laboratory team has extensive experience in applications to NCN, NCBR, FNP, NAWA, and EMBO.

We offer support in grant application preparation, including:

  • Infrastructure Description: We provide detailed descriptions of the technologies and capabilities that can be leveraged in projects.
  • Precise Estimation of Equipment Operating Costs.
  • Scientific Support: Our team of researchers assists in defining project goals and research methodology.
  • Equipment Availability: Involving laboratory team members at the grant application preparation stage ensures equipment availability and proper planning of research aligned with the laboratory’s schedule.

We encourage you to contact us directly to discuss potential research projects and to tailor our offer to meet the specific needs of your group.
